Local Authority Strike Action Could Impact Midlands Government Staff

Many workers are continuing to take on extra work.

Housing services, roads maintenance and water sections in the midlands could be severely impacted if strike action by local authority staff goes ahead.

Fórsa members have voted for industrial action in a row with local government management over a job evaluation scheme for workers. 

They say many continue to take on extra work since the economic crash, and should be paid for the additional duties. 

The union, which represents more than 10,000 local government staff, is warning of a summer of disruption if the dispute isn't resolved.
