The project has faced a number of delays.
Construction on a new flood relief scheme for a midlands town is due to begin next year.
The project in Mountmellick has been met with a number of delays in the past, due to a change in scope to include a large scheme area, development of the Owenass Bridge, and an assessment of drainage works.
The town was devastated by flooding in 2017, and it's expected the scheme will be complete in 2026.
