A move to lower childcare fee caps for Core Funding Partner Services next year could lead to the closure of small and medium size operators.
That's according to a Laois member of the Federation of Early Childhood Providers.
It comes as the Minister for Children is today launching phase one of the Early Years Action Plan, which is eventually aiming to cut fees to a maximum of €200 a month.
The new lower cost levels will be announced in 2026, while the allocation for Core Funding is being increased to €482 million.
