A man has been arrested in relation to a car chase in Longford, which left two people in hospital.
The incident occurred at around 4 o'clock last Monday evening, when gardaí approached a car driving erratically on the Ballinalee Road.
The driver struck a garda - who suffered non-life threatening injuries - and collided with a patrol car, before crashing into a wall in the Ardnacassa area.
He was taken to Tullamore Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
A man aged in his 30s was arrested this afternoon and is being detained at Longford Garda Station.
CHASE: The motorist hit a member of the Gardaí while trying to flee after being stopped for their driving.
