A prisoner in Midlands Prison was questioned over an alleged assault which related to the fire.
The man arrested in connection with an alleged assault associated with a fatal fire in Offaly has been released without charge.
A prisoner at Midlands Prison was taken for questioning after the alleged assault on the 6th of December.
Gardai believe the incident was linked to the murders of Tadhg Farrell and Mary Holt in an arson attack in Edenderry.
