The incident took place in Rochfortbridge on Saturday evening.
A man has been hospitalised after a serious road crash in Westmeath.
The crash, between a motorcycle and a car, took place at around 5.30pm on Main Street in Rochfortbridge on Saturday evening.
The motorcyclist, a man in his late 30s, sustained serious injuries and has been taken the Tullamore Hospital for treatment.
A technical examination of the scene has taken place, and local diversions which were in place have been lifted.
An incident room has been set up in Mullingar Garda Station and investigators are asking anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling through Rochfortbridge between 5:15pm and 5:45pm to reach out to Gardaí.
