Emergency services attended the scene this afternoon.
A man, who ran naked through a midlands town, has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Emergency services in Westmeath were called to assist the man earlier today, as he had lost a lot of blood after breaking the window of a shop in Athlone.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.30pm.
Gardaí were assisted by the National Ambulance Service Advance Paramedics from the Aeromedical section based in Athlone Barracks, and the Irish Air Corp.
The man in his 30s, who is now in a stable condition, was brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
Investigations are ongoing.
