The numbers of those employed by IDA in the Midlands continues to rise.
The Midlands trails behind the rest of the country when it comes to employment share in companies under the remit of IDA Ireland.
The annual Employment Survey for 2024 from the Department of Enterprise shows just 3.7 per cent of the 540 thousand employed by the IDA's client companies work in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, and Longford.
However the numbers employed in the midlands continues to rise year on year.
The 20,032 IDA client company workers is a 1.7 per cent increase on 2023, and represents a tenth consecutive year of growth.
Those working in the IDA sphere make up 20 per cent of all employment in Ireland.
