The Local Biodiversity Action Fund is supporting a range of Laois, Offaly and Westmeath projects.
Over €284,600 in funding has been allocated to Biodiversity projects in the Midlands.
It comes through the Local Biodiversity Action Fund which support education and awareness, invasive species management and wetland surveys.
Laois gets €95,250, with €26,749 going towards Biodiversity Awareness on the Portlaoise Orbital Route.
In Westmeath, €83,429 will be spread across the county.
€25,500 goes towards the Semi Natural Grassland survey for this year and in 2026.
While in Offaly the total sum is €105,919, with €29,730 going to the Hares Corner initiative.
The local authority is one of seven across the country that will use the money for projects that will create new habitats such as ponds, woodlands and orchards to benefit biodiversity.
