62 workers finished up at the Derrinlough Briquette Factory last week, after the initial target of late 2023 was moved forward due to maintenance costs and the quality of the remaining stockpiled peat.
Holly Cairns also says the presumption that rural Ireland doesn't know about the need for climate action is 'ridiculous.'
She says there's a lack of communication with workers in the peat industry:
