A man has been arrested after the discovery of €40,000 of cannabis herb.
Gardaí in the midlands have seized approximately €40,000 worth of drugs.
The seizure of cannbis herb happened after the search of a car on the M7 in Portlaoise yesterday.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was arrested and taken to a Garda Station in Laois, and can be detained for up to seven days.
The investigation is ongoing.
