Midlands MEP Says EU Housing Committee Can Help Housing Crisis

Barry Cowen believes they could boost house delivery through legislative and financial means.

A Midlands North-West MEP is urging the EU housing committee to find solutions to the housing crisis. 

Offaly's Barry Cowen believes the EU needs to use its legislative and financial levers to boost delivery, not just debate policy.

He says removing approved housing bodies from national balance sheets will expand the delivery capacity. 

The committee is aiming to tackle housing shortages as well as barriers to construction and affordability issues.
