Midlands Meteorologist Calls For Public Flood Advisory System

Heavy flooding occurred in the midlands over the weekend.

A Midlands meteorologist wants Met Eireann to put a more specialised public flood advisory system in place.

Status Orange and Yellow rain and wind warnings were issued for various counties during Storm Claudia, with none issued for Offaly, Laois or Westmeath.

However persistent heavy rain caused significant flooding in the region, especially in Mountmellick and Portarlington.
