A major extension could be on the cards soon for a midlands school.
Moate Community School is seeking planning permission for a near 10,000 square metre two and three-storey extension to the current building.
The development will include the construction of general and specialist classrooms, a general purpose hall, a PE hall, and a library.
It is also seeking permission for the provision of a Special Education Needs unit and additional classrooms on the ground floor of the existing St. Joseph's building.
The planning file also includes a submission for three new multi-use games area courts, and the installation of solar panels.
The development will consist of a major demolition project, which will include the St. Philip's building, St. Bridget's technology block, a number of classrooms and the removal of ten prefabs.
The provision of a new car and bus set down area, 54 new car parking spaces and 100 bicycle spaces could also get the green light from Westmeath County Council.
The local authority is due to make a decision by the 25th of July.
