Midlands Sees Surge In House Prices

The prices rose by 15.9%.

The largest growth in house prices over the 12 months to January this year was in the Midlands. 

The Central Statistics Office reports the cost of properties in Laois, Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath rose by 15.9%. 

At the other end of the scale, Clare, Limerick, and Tipperary saw a rise of 5.6%. 

Overall, the average cost of a home increased by 7% in the 12 months to January.
