A midlands Senator, and member of the Oireachtas Committee on media is defending the Media Minister over the payments controversy at RTE.
Catherine Martin is due before the Committee tomorrow, over her TV remarks that led to the resignation of former Chair Siún Ní Rathallaigh.
She's at odds with the RTE Board, claiming she wasn't told an exit package for former RTE CFO Richard Collins was approved.
