Midlands Simon Calls On Government For Retrofit Funding

The Midlands branch is seeking to retrofit 13 properties to cater for single adult accommodation.

Midlands Simon Community wants Government funding to help take people off the streets. 

The charity says 13 of its Midlands properties remain vacant and below standard, and it is seeking €150,000  to retrofit and bring them back into use, primarily for single adults.

While Budget 2026 allocates €140 million to upgrade 3,500 social homes and €558 million to schemes run by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Midlands Simon does not fit historic funding categories that would allow it to qualify.
