It comes as part of the Dormant Account Fund.
Sports Partnership groups in the midlands are set to benefit from over €300,000 in funding.
The money comes from the Dormant Account Fund, and will aim to boost sports initiatives such as 'Get Girls Active,' 'Youth Leadership,' and specialised disability training courses.
Offaly has been allocated the highest fund in the region, at €142,000.
Laois will receive €114,500, and Westmeath is set to benefit from €66,700.
Offaly Senator Pippa Hacket says: “I welcome both the direct and indirect funding to promote physical activity for all through the Local Sports Partnerships in Laois and Offaly. While the direct funding of €114,500 for Laois and €142,000 for Offaly has the most immediate, local and visible impact, I also look forward to the benefits of the Sports Ireland enhanced physical activity programmes including those focused on teenage girls. As a sports enthusiast, a runner and a mother of girls, I am all for the effective promotion of increased activity levels in this target group and I welcome this funding towards supporting the actions and objectives set out in the Sport Ireland Women In Sport Policy.”
