A midlands student is among the young group of winners of one of the country's most prestigious trad music competitions.
Fionn Connolly of Coláiste Íosagáin, Portarlington was in a group of eight that were announced winners of the Siansa Irish Championships in front of a large crowd at the National Concert Hall.
Fionn will also be taking part on the Big Busk at Supervalu in the town today, which will involve students in groups performing 30 minute sets of tradional music and Jazz.
