2,000 jobs are in immediate danger, according to warnings this week.

An independent TD is calling on the government to set aside €30 million in next Tuesday's budget to save jobs at Bord na Móna.

Roscommon/Galway rep Denis Naughten says the money should be used to rehabilitate the bogs and looking at alternative enterprises in the midlands.

Groups of Unions warned this week that up to two thousand jobs are at risk at the semi-state company in the immediate future.

Deputy Naughten says he's expecting the government to react next week:
