Midlands TD Says Poor Broadband Is Impacting Livestock Prices

Carol Nolan says rural connectivity is affecting the price farmers are receiving for their livestock at marts.

A Laois/Offaly TD claims poor rural connectivity is affecting the price farmers are receiving for their livestock at marts.

Carol Nolan is asking the Taoiseach to intervene and stop the income of producers being reduced during level five restrictions.

Speed tests at sales in Edenderry and Birr revealed that both online events were operating at less than 30mps (megabytes per second).

Deputy Nolan says the rollout of rural broadband has been too slow to reach the midlands.
