One teenage boy has died and another is in hospital after an accident believed to involve a quad bike.
Gardai say it happened yesterday afternoon, around half at a wooded area near Ballyshanduff which is just outside Ballybrittas.
It's understood the two males were on board the quad bike at the time.
One boy in his teens was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise, but passed away.
The other boy was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore, where he's currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
