The mother of a Meath baby who received a €1 million donation from a Laois family says she was heartbroken by their situation.
Aisling and Niall Donoher made the gesture after it became clear that a potential life-saving treatment for their son Dan wouldn't work because of a virus he picked up.
Eight month old Olivia has the same spinal muscular atrophy condition and is looking to travel to the US for treatment.
