Lough Ree RNLI is opening a brand new station in Athlone today.
The €1.2 million state of the art boat-house at Coosan Point will provide shelter and training for the charity's crew.
It'll be unveiled at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the same time its Atlantic 85 lifeboat will be named Tara Scougall in honour of a mother who died from cancer.
