The new Mayor of a Westmeath municipal district is optimistic for the year ahead.
Liam McDaniel is taking over as Mayor of the Athlone-Moate Municipal District from Vinny McCormack and will remain in the role until June 2027.
It's the second time he'll be occupying the role, having previously held it in 2021.
