New laws could see nightclubs and bars open until 6am.
Very few nightclubs outside of Dublin would be willing to remain open until 6am.
That's according to the President of the Vintners' Federation of Ireland, Kinnitty's John Clendennen, as debate continues over new licencing laws allowing bars and nightclubs to remain open later.
Concerns have been raised by former Justice Minister and Laois Offaly Fine Gael TD Charlie Flanagan on road safety, public order and the possibility of the laws being rushed through before the next general election.
