That's according to Athlone-based group, Safe Ireland.
Safe Ireland says there's likely to be further increases in the number of domestic violence cases sent forward for prosecution.
According to Freedom of Information figures, the DPP received 465 files from gardaí relating to domestic violence in 2019 and pursued prosecutions in 249 of those cases.
In 2020, there were 872 files referred to the DPP with 495 sent forward for trial.
