Obesity is a "complex" disease and simplifying it down to diet and exercise "undermines people's struggle with weight."
That's according to Dr. Sarah Anne Bennett from Medical Weight Management Clinic, Tullamore.
She says while checking BMI can assist with understanding the severity of the condition, more in depth analysis is needed to properly treat people.
