An Offaly boy's family are remaining positive after he needed further surgery after having issues following his life-saving procedure.
Two year old Joey Conway from Tullamore underwent an eight-hour operation in Chicago earlier this year to treat Portal Hypertension - afforded by a huge fundraising effort.
During his recent check up, Joey had to have further surgery to prevent the closing of a vein, an event that only happens in 15 percent of cases.
However, Joey's parents, Natalie and Tommy have seen huge improvement in their son since his initial procedure.
Ms Conway says they are learning to remain realistic:
