Rhode's Cathal Nolan was training for cross-country skiing in the French Alps when he started to get extreme pain in his legs and hips in 2017.
It turned out a curve in his spine and some dietary intolerances had gone undetected, that combined with the physical stress his body was going through while training was exasperating the symptoms.
