Daingean GAA's initiative has garnered plenty of social media attention.

A GAA club in Offaly is taking to the bog in an effort to help the local community.

Players, managers and committee members from Daingean have been conducting a turf-a-thon throughout the parish over the last few weeks.

It's aimed at residents who may be unable to foot their turf and bring it in during the ongoing health crisis.

Club secretary Vicky Keating says the players have gotten quite competitive about the challenge:
