The 14 day incidence rate of covid-19 in Offaly has increased by over 100% in the last month.
The Faithful County has a rate of 484 per 100,000 people, up from 205 four weeks ago.
The latest figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre also recorded a steep rise in Westmeath, from 275 to 394.
Laois is the only midlands county with a decline in numbers with 410, down slightly on last month's figure of 413.
Nationally, Monaghan is the worst affected county with 1,289 cases per 100,000 people - nearly three times the national average.
