Australia has presented new legislation to ban social media for anyone aged under 16.
An online ID and verification system would need to be set up in order to enact any kind of age restriction or ban on social media.
That's according to an IT expert in Laois, as Australia has announced new legislation that would see those aged under 16 unable to use social media.
However, it would be the responsibility of the platforms themselves to police the age limit.
