Over 1,200 Fewer Homes Than Originally Planned To Built In Laois By 2027

Councillors have been discussing the draft of the new County Development Plan 2021-2027.

Over 1,200 fewer houses than originally planned will be built in Laois in the next five years.

Initial plans early last year suggested 5,202 homes could be constructed during the next development cycle. 

However, when local representatives discussed the new draft County Development Plan yesterday, that figure had dropped by 25% to just under 4,000.
