A motorist in Laois was caught doing over double the speeding limit.
One driver was arrested for drink or drug driving roughly every hour over the Christmas period.
Gardaí conducted a road safety campaign between the 1st of December and the 5th of January - detecting 765 people driving while intoxicated.
Over 26,500 motorists were found to be speeding, while 450 fines were given out for not wearing seatbelts.
One motorist in Laois near Crettyard was caught travelling at 167 kilometres per hour in an 80 zone.
