Pay rose to over €30,000 after the release of the 2020 Moorhead Report.
Offaly County Councillors have received a salary increase of 40% in recent years.
Pay rose from around €18,000 to over €30,000 following the 2020 Moorhead Report from the Association of Irish Local Government.
Cathaoirleach John Leahy believes the pay rise acknowledges the demanding work local councillors do.
However the Independent rep believes the admin-burden each councillor faces is their biggest challenge.
