A man has been hospitalised after being hit by a van in Co Carlow in the early hours of this morning.
The pedestrian was knocked down shortly before 5am on Hanover Road in Carlow Town.
He was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Co Kilkenny with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the Shinrone to Roscrea road has now reopened following a serious crash yesterday evening.
A pensioner sustained serious injuries in the incident involving a van and bicycle.
The Garda forensic collision investigators had closed the road to carry out their investigations
