The intention is in inter-connect with the Greenway.
Bord Na Móna is planning to build cycling and walking trails across the midlands bogs.
The body is looking for tenders for the development, which is worth €30m.
Bord na Móna says it wants to build a strategic network of connected trails on lands in the region which were currently used predominately for peat extraction.
It also says the trails will inter-connect with the existing Greenway network.
The call for tenders suggests re-imagining industrial bridges, formerly used to transport peat, to thematic experiences, featuring place-making and art installations.
The document also says Bord Na Móna wants to create a sense of connectivity across the towns and villages, bogs and waterways in the midlands.
The contract will be for a period of a year.
The development will open for tenders next month, and will be open for 60 days.
