15 apartments are set to be built in its place.
Plans to transform a former Westmeath night club into apartments have received the green light.
Meeting House Partners had applied for permission to demolish two buildings on Oliver Plunkett Street, Mullingar, which currently house the former The Lane Club premises, a retail unit, stores and two apartments.
They want to reconfigure the remaining buildings and construct a new two to four-storey structure, containing 15 apartments over ground floor retail space.
Westmeath County Council has granted permission, provided the developers comply with 15 conditions.
They include the payment of over €14,000 to the local authority, to help with the cost public infrastructure related to the project, and that 22 bike parking facilities are provided for residents.
