The locals feel the works will cause more harm than good.
A protest is due to be held in a midlands town this evening over road works.
The people in the village of Rhode, Offaly have complained that council road works have made it difficult to move through the town, particularly for large vehicles and have reduced parking in the area.
They are also against the changes being made to their footpaths.
