The new statistics come from the CSO'S year in numbers report.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the number of new homes being constructed in the Midlands is on the rise.
500 houses were completed across Laois, Offaly and Westmeath in Q3 of 2024 which is a 17.4% increase from Q3 of 2023.
The statistics come from the 'Ireland 2024-The Year in Numbers' report and includes single houses, housing estates and apartments connected to the ESB network as dwellings.
The biggest increase was recorded across Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford at 53.7%.
Nationally 21,634 new dwellings were completed last year, a decrease of 3.1% from the same period in 2023.
