The Westmeath town launched its Energy Master Plan last night.
Seeing the amount of greenhouse gases emitted in a midlands town is "sobering."
That's according to the Castlepollard Local Development group, following the launch of the town's Energy Master Plan.
It found every person in the town emits eight tonnes of greenhouse gases every year - not including food waste or air travel.
There are no A BER rated homes in the area surveyed, while over 20% of houses in Coolure have a G rating.
But, Chair of the Castlepollard Local Development group, Stephen O' Brien, says the plan has given them a baseline from which they can work:
