So says SOLAS Eco Garden Centre in Portarlington, which is making energy adjustments to offset rising costs this winter.
Co-owner and environmentalist, David Maher says the electricity bill for their outdoor courtyard rose from €16,000 in 2021 to €32,000 in 2022.
However, they've just installed in some solar panels, which will make the company 94 per cent energy independent.
David recommends considering the investment, despite the initial costs:
