Solutions Put Forward To Reduce Noise Pollution On Busy Midlands Road

A survey was carried out earlier this year.

Accoustic barriers and changing the road surface are on the table to solve noise pollution on a busy midlands road.

A survey was conducted along the N6 Athlone relief road in January of this year to monitor noise levels.

The report has found there are 'alarming levels of noise, both day and night.'

Chairperson of the Athlone Relief Road Noise Mitigation Group and Fianna Fáil Councillor Aengus O' Rourke says the levels are 'dominating' for nearby residents:
