There are currently nearly 150 Ukrainian refugees and International Protection Applicants in tents at the site.
The Department of Integration says it's "impossible" to be certain how much longer over 70 Ukrainian refugees will be staying in tents at a former midlands army barracks.
There are currently 20 tents on-site at Columb Barracks in Mullingar, which are accommodating 71 people fleeing the conflict in Eastern Europe.
There are also 78 International Protection Applicants in tents at the site.
It also says it's reached an agreement to house an additional 48 refugees in rapid-build, "pod-style" units at the barracks, bringing the total to just under 250.
The originally-agreed 50 of those units are expected to be ready in the next few weeks, while the additional 12 are due to be complete in December.
The Department says it expects the first of the Ukrainian families to be moved in this month.
