Jewellery was stolen from a home in Westmeath before a garda chase ensued.
Three men will appear in court after a burglary in the midlands on Monday evening.
Gardai responded to reports of a break in at a house in Westmeath at around 5pm where a quantity of jewellery was reported stolen.
The three men were spotted fleeing the scene in the Ballynacargy area in a vehicle a short time later and were chased by Gardai.
During a managed containment operation, involving a number of Garda units, the men left the vehicle and were pursued by Gardaí on foot.
The men, all in the 20s, were later arrested and are due to appear before Athlone District Court this morning.
