An unaccompanied learner driver has been caught travelling in a 'dangerously defective' vehicle.
The motorist was stopped by Delvin Roads Policing Unit in Mullingar town on Wednesday.
Gardaí say they had placed sandbags in the boot, to weigh the car down even lower.
The vehicle has been seized and the driver will appear before the courts at a later date.
