Uisce Éireann says there may be a disruption to supply in Ballynacargy, Ballymore, Moyvore, Moate and the surrounding areas as a result.
Works to repair the fault are scheduled to take place at around 5pm this evening.
However, the body is advising households to allow up to three hours afterwards for water to be fully restored.
