Westmeath Rugby Club Tighten Security After Equipment Theft

Moate's Midland Warriors Rugby Club had €500 worth of cable equipment stolen this week.

A rugby club in Westmeath which had €500 worth of cable equipment stolen from their grounds says they will be tightening their security. 

The robbery happened just a day after the Midland Warriors Rugby Club in Moate used their new pitch for the first time on Monday night. 

No other objects were reported stolen.

PRO and Women's Rugby Officer with the Midland Warriors, Celine Slevin says there will be tighter security measures in place following the incident.

She says CCTV cameras are now in full operation ahead of their Open Day on October 19th:
