45 midlands schools are represented at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition.
Some Westmeath students are hoping to win the BT Young Scientist Exhibition with their flood warning app.
Cian Flaherty and Eoin Rhatigan from Colasie Mhuire in Mullingar are behind the idea - which is targetted at those who live in high risk areas.
It's one of 45 schools in the Midlands taking part in the exhibition - with judging taking place over the next two days.
